Digital Designer

Overview

Responsibilities

  • Create and design graphics for radio station websites, client ads, event signage/posters and social media.
  • Photograph select concerts and events.
  • Film and edit video for various client ad campaigns, radio station promotions and events.
  • Ensure projects are completed with high quality and on schedule.
  • Work with department managers and collaborate with team members to establish creative direction for projects.
  • Prioritize and manage multiple projects.
  • Work with a wide range of media and use graphic design software.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, digital media, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in graphic design.
  • Familiarity with HTML and CSS preferred.
  • Knowledge of Adobe PhotoShop, Illustrator, FinalCut Pro.
  • Compelling portfolio of work over a wide range of creative projects that showcases competencies/experience.

Radio Broadcast Engineer

Job Description:

Local Media San Diego A is looking for a Full Time Engineer that will be responsible for maintaining and repairing all broadcast equipment including studio and transmitter equipment. This is a huge opportunity to work at a locally owned company with a very dynamic team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensure radio stations are complying with all FCC rules and regulations.
  • Install and maintain broadcast equipment at transmitter sites and studios.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot links to transmitter sites.
  • Maintain all studio equipment and audio streaming.
  • Develop plans to integrate new technology for transmitter facilities, remote broadcasts and in house studios.
  • Provide technical support to employees.
  • Perform monthly inspections of all equipment.
  • Experience in computer based automation systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot by using test equipment such as Spectrum Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, and field strength meters.
  • Work at remote broadcasts as needed.
  • Possess IT skills including ability to troubleshoot servers as needed.
  • Able to be on-call after hours for emergencies or maintenance as needed.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by Director of Operations, President/GM or CFO/COO.

Experience:

  • Minimum five years of experience in broadcast maintenance.
  • Associate’s or Technical degree in engineering related education is preferred.
  • Must work effectively with staff.
  • Knowledge of SAS consoles and NexGen is preferred.
  • Ability to understand technical materials.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must have flexible schedule.
  • On-call duty, including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Staff Accountant

Local Media San Diego, LLC is currently in search of a Staff Accountant for a fast-paced, multi station Radio Broadcasting environment.

Duties will include assisting Controller with month end close, various maintaining files and assisting with managing day-to-day accounting responsibilities including general ledger entries, Fixed Assets, and any interim projects. Experience with annual audits a plus. Candidate must be extremely organized and professional, work well with others at all levels, develop and maintain positive working relationships, must have excellent oral and written communication and adapts to a fast pace environment.

BA Degree preferred. Candidate must have knowledge of GAAP (General Accepted Accounting Principles) Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point Programs.

Sales Coordinator

Local Media San Diego, LLC is seeking a sales coordinator with a minimum of 2 years experience, preferably in radio, television, or broadcasting industry. Candidate will assist a team of Account Executives, and Sales Managers with creating sales proposals, preparing media/sales kits, inputting sales orders and various other projects as needed. At times candidate will have to cover receptionist desk. Experience with radio sales software including Marketron, Arbitron, Miller Kaplan is preferred. Must excel at PowerPoint, Excel, and Word. Photoshop/Graphics experience is a plus. The right candidate must be analytical, able to multi-task, detail oriented and well organized. 91X Morning Show Producer 

91X, San Diego’s Local Independent Alternative station, is searching for a morning show producer. Candidates must have a great attitude, work ethic and a fearless desire to win in a highly competitive market. Creativity and strong social media skills are crucial for this role. Senior Account Executive Digital Sales

Local Media San Diego is looking for an Account Executive to sell our digital assets. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining strategic advertising partnerships with digital advertising agencies and advertisers in San Diego and throughout Southern California. Successful candidates must be motivated, enthusiastic, self-starters able to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage and proactively sell to digital advertising agencies and brands
  • Structure and direct the entire sales process from account identification to close
  • Work with Director of Digital Sales to develop new strategies and solutions for local, regional and national companies
  • Market database of 1st party users
  • Build Social Media campaigns from an active and engaged base of followers
  • Collaborate with series of Local Media Events to enhance digital campaign with more touch points
  • Use local targeting to super serve the needs of advertisers on a micro level

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

  • 3-5  years of Digital Account Executive or client facing Digital Ops experience
  • Strong existing network of agency/brand contacts and relationships

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

On-Air Board Operator

The qualified candidates will:
• Operate broadcast console
• Read and follow format log and play the correct spots and station ID’s at the appropriate times
• Operate faders, monitor audio levels, and segue music – ensure the music is tight.
• Board ops will need to show up 30 minutes prior to live broadcast to check in and make sure studio is set up for broadcast
• Communicate effectively with program directors.  Other duties may be assigned
• May help administer contests, answer listener phone calls, screen listener calls for live shows.
• Board operators may also be responsible for monitoring additional radio stations simultaneously.

Social Media Internship Program

Local Media San Diego is a local, independent radio group in San Diego that includes radio stations 91X, Magic 92.5 and Z90. Socially, our main goal is to build a community of people that are engaged in the station brands, creating more on-air listenership, increased attendance at station events and shows, and increased digital traffic (database, unique visitors and frequency).
We are looking for fun, enthusiastic interns to work with our Social Media/Content Team! Interns will assist with creating and curating content for our Websites and social media channels: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Snapchat.

What you will learn:
• How to create and guide compelling content that engages the audience demographic for each station.
• How to track Social Media and Website analytics and the success of posts and content.
• How to effectively work in a fast-paced environment.
• Photography and possible video editing if the opportunity presents itself.

What we require:
• You have to be Social! Hermits need not apply!
• Upper-division classes in Marketing, Communication, Public Relations, or other related classes.
• Organized and detailed oriented, with an ability to prioritize time-sensitive assignments.
