Social Media Manager

Position Summary:

The Social Media Manager will develop and implement Local Media San Diego’s daily marketing and promotional efforts through Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, an other Social Media channels. The multi-media content strategy will help to cultivate leads through campaign promotions while increasing brand awareness for 91x, Z90, Magic 92.5, 100.7 KFM-BFM and AM 760 KFMB. This position will also assist with SEO strategy. The Social Media Manager will oversee the team that monitors and responds to listener engagement, encouraging online advocacy and expansion of digital outreach efforts. They will work collaboratively with the Digital/Programming/Promotions departments to oversee Social Media strategy and implementation. The Social Media Manager will oversee the team that attends live events in order to engage with listeners and post photos and videos in real-time to relevant social accounts.

Essential Job Duties:

Content Creator

  • Manage digital editorial content calendar, leading creative development process from ideation to execution.
  • Write and edit content that speaks specifically to the users of each platform and demographic of each station in order to increase listener engagement and ROI
  • Ensure consistent brand messaging and voice for each radio station
  • Collaborate with on-air personalities to help them achieve their online goals
  • Leverage partnerships with fan clubs, bands, and brand advocates to maximize exposure for unique content
  • Work with internal teams to expand video content library (X Sessions, etc.)
  • Look into increasing new artist/local talent promotion in order to develop unique, shareable content
  • Create shareable graphics and cohesive ad campaigns

 

Community Management

  • Act as an extension of Local Media’s PR team, monitoring the social presence of each station to ensure timely and appropriate responses to listener queries
  • Help to oversee department workflow, defining and prioritizing all projects
  • Promote collaboration both internally and externally
  • Demonstrate flexibility and proficiency for creative problem solving
  • Foster increased engagement with Social Media channels.
  • Convert fans into brand ambassadors and lifelong customers
  • Attend events to engage with listeners and post live photos and videos

 

Data Analyst

  • Stay up-to-date on social media trends and best practices
  • Monitor competitors’ campaign and social strategies
  • Discover and develop new strategies and draw insight from historical data
  • Report on campaign success to key stakeholders (likes, shares, reach, leads)
  • Identify opportunities for each social media platform, provide recommendations

 

Essential Job Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms including their
  • strengths and weaknesses in different scenarios.
  • Knowledge of Wordpress and Google Analytics.
  • Excellent photography skills.
  • Ability to effectively inspire and lead a team, while still be a team member
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a constantly changing work environment.

KFMB-RADIO & SDLOCAL – Sales Assistant

We are searching for a sales assistant whose primary responsibility will be to assist and provide support for 100.7 KFM-BFM and AM 760 but position may also provide sales support to any of the 5 radio stations under SDLocal, which represents KFMB Radio (100.7 KFM-BFM and KFMB-AM 760) and Local Media San Diego (91X, Z90 and Magic 92.5). Position will provide support to the local sales managers and account executives and job duties will include preparing presentations, creating sales proposals, typing correspondence and inputting orders. Additional responsibilities include answering phones, pulling contracts, preparing media kits, posting ratings and other administrative duties as required. This position will also be required to cross-train with Radio Traffic to provide backup coverage as needed. Candidates must be proficient in Word and Excel and PowerPoint. Knowledge of the Marketron traffic system, as well as Efficio, is a plus. 1-2 years previous radio or sales assistance experience preferred.

KFMB STATIONS – San Diego, CA: Director of Engineering (DOE)

KFMB Stations has an immediate opening for a Director of Engineering to oversee the on-air presentation and technical aspects of KFMB Station’s television station (CBS News 8 (KFMB-TV), a CBS affiliate in San Diego), as well as our two local radio stations (KFMB-AM 760 and 100.7 KFM-BFM).

Position will oversee and manage all engineering functions, including broadcast operations and digital distribution systems, studio and remote field operations, transmitter, master control, tower operations, equipment, building and operations maintenance, IT, security, engineering personnel management and budgets/capital planning and maintenance.

Position will be required to develop and implement current and long-range technical operation plans with an emphasis on emerging technology and competitive ENG to support all television and radio broadcast operations, including the identification, evaluation and implementation of technical installation and equipment needs, as well as recommendations regarding technical and/or support systems requirements for existing operational infrastructures and future technological developments.

Position requires a solid understanding of both television and radio broadcast requirements, including on-air servers, broadcast equipment, automated news production, master control operations, ENG, DSNG and other on-air operations. Knowledge of the following areas is also required: Fundamental principles, uses, capabilities, and limitations of television broadcasting equipment, including advanced digital technologies; Principles and applications of electronics in production and transmission of live and/or recorded transmissions of program material; Principles and practices of broadcasting and television and radio station administrations; State of the art technological advancements in broadcast equipment, systems, and related software; OSHA and FAA regulations; FCC regulations regarding TV and Radio broadcasting and related records, reports, and procedures.

Previous broadcast engineering management experience (5+ years) in a television production and/or broadcast facility, including responsibility for projects relating to technical operations and equipment is required. Previous television broadcasting experience required. Previous radio experience is preferred. SBE certification is also preferred. Bachelor’s Degree with a major in radio/television broadcasting, electronic/electrical engineering or a related field is also required.

91X Assistant Program Director

San Diego’s heritage Alternative Rock station 91X seeks a highly organized, detail oriented APD/On-Air Talent.

 

The qualified candidates will:

  • Have passion for the format and vision for attracting new listeners to the station
    Work with the program director in carrying out daily programming operations including scheduling daily music logs, assisting with production and promotions as needed, generating weekly staff schedules, and strong on-air skills required.
  • Foster a creative, productive and collaborative work environment
  • Analyze and utilize programming-related research data and ratings

Position Requirements

Promotions Coordinator

Job Description:
Specific duties include, but are not restricted to, the following:
Coordinate with department to oversee promotional calendar of appearances and giveaways, following up on details for activation, including confirmation, winner sheets, follow-up and delivery of prizes for winners.
Write on-air copy for promotional spots, on-air giveaways, website, event POP’s and others as needed.
Draft proposals for promoters and 3rd clients for promotional opportunities, including product giveaways, local concerts and events.  Confirm and activate within department.
Regular maintenance on station websites, including event listings, concerts, contests, and photo galleries and additional content as needed.
Organize event folders and software with updated information mirroring the promo calendar as it develops, communicating pertinent information to all relevant staff and departments.
Serve as station liaison for listeners and winners.  Enter and maintain documentation of winners and winner database.
Assist with general overall department duties to the Promotions Director, Promotions Manager and other station personnel.
Office duties may include: working with clients on pre-event preparations, listener correspondence, social network updating, filing, and other duties as needed.
Representing station on-site at events as needed.

Requirements:
Position requires a positive attitude, strong customer service and organizational skills.
Candidate must take initiative, be a creative thinker, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects at the same time.
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

On-Air Board Operator

The qualified candidates will:
• Operate broadcast console
• Read and follow format log and play the correct spots and station ID’s at the appropriate times
• Operate faders, monitor audio levels, and segue music – ensure the music is tight.
• Board ops will need to show up 30 minutes prior to live broadcast to check in and make sure studio is set up for broadcast
• Communicate effectively with program directors.  Other duties may be assigned
• May help administer contests, answer listener phone calls, screen listener calls for live shows.
• Board operators may also be responsible for monitoring additional radio stations simultaneously.
