Social Media Specialist – SDLocal

We are searching for a Social Media Specialist to manage the social media and web presence for SDLocal’s five radio stations, which represents Local Media San Diego (91X, Z90 and Magic 92.5) and KFMB Radio (100.7 JACK FM and 760 AM). This position will report directly to the Social Media/Content Manager and will collaborate with the Sales, Promotions, and Production teams to develop marketing and communications plans that leverage the digital space for all five diverse radio stations. Candidates must have prior experience as a blogger or social media community manager and a solid understanding of current digital marketing best-practices and digital production processes. Candidates must also possess excellent grammar and writing skills, including a basic knowledge of AP style.  This position will require frequent evening and weekend work and/or occasional holidays and requires someone that is high-energy, LOVES music, and that can speak to a wide variety of audiences on multiple social media channels about a wide range of current topics. Experience with WordPress, Google Analytics and/or photo/video editing skills is a plus.

Key Accountabilities

Content Creation:
Responsible for developing engaging content across social channels and brand websites. This content will include blog posts, tweets, Facebook status updates, photos, and videos.
Aid on-air personalities in growing their individual blog traffic on,,, 100.7 Jack FM and 760 AM.

Leverage measurement tools to provide monthly progress reports and insights while continually finding ways to improve on those metrics through testing and new initiatives.
Research competitor’s website and social presence, deriving value from their successful campaigns.

Community Management:
Engage with and reply to listener comments on all social channels in a timely manner.
Be an active part of the San Diego community, both online and at events.

2+ years Marketing/Advertising experience in the digital space
BA/BS with focus on Communications or related field

Promotions Coordinator

Job Description:
Specific duties include, but are not restricted to, the following:
Coordinate with department to oversee promotional calendar of appearances and giveaways, following up on details for activation, including confirmation, winner sheets, follow-up and delivery of prizes for winners.
Write on-air copy for promotional spots, on-air giveaways, website, event POP’s and others as needed.
Draft proposals for promoters and 3rd clients for promotional opportunities, including product giveaways, local concerts and events.  Confirm and activate within department.
Regular maintenance on station websites, including event listings, concerts, contests, and photo galleries and additional content as needed.
Organize event folders and software with updated information mirroring the promo calendar as it develops, communicating pertinent information to all relevant staff and departments.
Serve as station liaison for listeners and winners.  Enter and maintain documentation of winners and winner database.
Assist with general overall department duties to the Promotions Director, Promotions Manager and other station personnel.
Office duties may include: working with clients on pre-event preparations, listener correspondence, social network updating, filing, and other duties as needed.
Representing station on-site at events as needed.

Position requires a positive attitude, strong customer service and organizational skills.
Candidate must take initiative, be a creative thinker, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects at the same time.
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
High School Diploma or Equivalent Required.  Two-Years College Preferred.
Microsoft Word, Excel, Website and Internet experience.
Knowledge of San Diego and surrounding area is a plus.
Knowledge of broadcasting equipment is a plus.
Knowledge of PromoSuite software is a plus.
18 years old or older.
Must have an excellent Driving Record.
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with knowledge of music formats and relevant artists.

Account Executive

Local Media San Diego is seeking an Account Executive with extensive account service
experience in automotive advertising. The candidate is knowledgeable about the car
business and able to communicate with dealers on their level. You should
also have working knowledge and experience on how to help increase sales and
market share for your dealer clients. Strong consideration for those with marketing and
advertising experience in other areas outside of automotive will be made.

Must be able to conceptualize and create Automotive Advertising Campaigns.

Someone with good marketing skills and media savvy capable of providing the right creative strategy; able to use your understanding of market share and competitive analysis to determine the strongest marketing and media plans. You must be a self- directed leader.

Minimum three years media sales experience with auto dealers/groups.

Sales Assistant

Local Media San Diego, LLC is seeking a sales assistant with a minimum of 2 years experience, preferably in radio, television, or broadcasting industry.  Candidate will assist a team of Account Executives, and Sales Managers with inputting sales orders, preparing media/sales kits, sales proposals, and various other projects as needed.  Experience with radio sales software including Marketron, Arbitron, Miller Kaplan is preferred.  Must be proficient in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.  Photoshop/Graphics experience is a plus.  The right candidate must be analytical, able to multi-task, detail oriented and well organized.  We are recruiting achievers who thrive in a fast-paced environment.  .

On-Air Board Operator

The qualified candidates will:
• Operate broadcast console
• Read and follow format log and play the correct spots and station ID’s at the appropriate times
• Operate faders, monitor audio levels, and segue music – ensure the music is tight.
• Board ops will need to show up 30 minutes prior to live broadcast to check in and make sure studio is set up for broadcast
• Communicate effectively with program directors.  Other duties may be assigned
• May help administer contests, answer listener phone calls, screen listener calls for live shows.
• Board operators may also be responsible for monitoring additional radio stations simultaneously.
