How I Started Djing: My most earliest musical influences came from riding with my mom and dad in the car listening to oldies classic rock R&B and Soul. My older brother introduced me to what we now know to be classic hip-hop at around the age of five. When he was still in high school (C/O 88 Mira Mesa) he would take me with him to his friends house and they would practice breakdancing and djing. Since then, I have seen hip-hop evolve and take shape in many different trends and styles and have always been able to appreciate it no matter were it ends up .....everyone has their own idea of what the true essence is and that’s what makes it so great.
In late junior high school, I was ultimately inspired by the movie JUICE with Omar Epps and Tupac Shakur. It made me realize that I could express myself through music while gaining positive attention. My older Brother (Dj Frank B) realized that he could contribute to keeping me out of trouble by introducing me to turntablism (djing) It was at the eighth grade dance that the word got out that I could skratch and mix records. I been doin it ever since. Thanks b2 God for that.
