Kanye West is now a religious experience…sort of.

A street artist known as “Plastic Jesus” has created a gold life-size statue of Kanye West as Jesus.

The statue is on the corner of Los Angeles’ Hollywood Boulevard and La Brea Avenue.

It’s called “False Idol” and the artist told The Hollywood Reporter that the statue represents idol worship and Kanye’s recent fall from grace.

The artist also said:

He’s a genius at writing and producing but he’s not a God, and that’s where we put him. Until there’s an issue in his life or a hiccup in his career, then we crucify him. We’ve seen it before with people like Britney Spears or Lindsay Lohan. The same people who put him into a God-like place are the same yapping at his heels for a piece of flesh when something happens.

No word yet on how Kanye West feels about the statue.

What do you think of the meaning behind the statue? Let me know your thoughts here.
