Something many people have noticed over the years probably has been Eminem’s weight loss, but you probably never really thought anything of it!

What’s wrong with losing some weight and getting healthy, right?

One can only guess that motivation comes in many forms, but when it was revealed what that motivation was, things got a bit more interesting and revealing.

In a recent interview with Eminem in Men’s Journal magazine, the rapper reveals his 81 pound weight loss after overdosing on pills.

“In 2007, I overdosed on pills, and I went into the hospital. I was close to 230 pounds. I’m not sure how I got so big, but I have ideas. The coating on the Vicodin and the Valium I’d been taking for years leaves a hole in your stomach, so to avoid a stomachache, I was constantly eating — and eating badly.”

Eminem goes on to explain his “addictive” mentality once he realized he was gaining more weight that he was going to the extreme and running close to 17 miles a day and burning close to 2000 calories at a time and landing to about 149 pounds.

“Unless I was blitzed out of my mind, I had trouble sleeping,” he said. “So I started running. It gave me a natural endorphin high, but it also helped me sleep, so it was perfect. It’s easy to understand how people replace addiction with exercise.”

Bottom line, running seemed to equal recovery for Eminem as he continued to work out religiously.
