Today’s story comes from lincoln University in Pennsylvania, where Imani Lamarr was pursuing her college education but had to delay when she became pregnant, and then delay again when her son was born premature and needed extended care. When she told her professor she was going to miss even more classes because she couldn’t find a babysitter, his answer was no. Instead, the professor, doctor Aqeel Dix, told her to bring the baby to school. “I’m not going to have one of my students miss my class because they have no one to watch their child. That’s just not an option for me,” said Dix. With his help, Imani was able to continue, and a photo of her professor holding the baby during a class lesson went viral. Imani is now on track to graduate, thanks to the dedication and support of her University mentor.
