Today’s story comes from waterbury, vermont, where 47-year-old denise mccarthy took a dna test and tracked down her birth family across the globe in south korea. Back in 1976, 2-year-old denise was adopted by a family in vermont, and grew up believing she was abandoned as a baby. However, it turns out she actually got lost in a busy outdoor market, and her birth family had been searching for her all these years. The emotional reunion finally happened in south korea, denise met her mother, older brother, and learned she had a twin sister! Denise plans to visit her korean family every year, and said “when i hugged my family, i didn’t want to let go. They’re in my heart, and i’m in theirs.”
